Apt 22: Wine & Cheese

Apt 22 loves to throw a wine & cheese event. One because it gives them a chance to spend some social shopping time with their customers. two because, who needs an excuse to drink wine, eat cheese and shop?!

It's all about client appreciation with Kim Stern, owner of the stylish little boutique. And this Thursday is one of those client appreciation nights. Apt 22 is hosting a little wine & cheese event at the store, 1314- 1 Street SW.

You can find some fabulous fashionable finds from all around the world, as Kim loves to shop internationaly specifically for people like yourself, stylish. And for those of you who love a little guidence with what your style is... Kim and all her staff at the store are so great it's like getting your own personal stylist shopping for you right there. They will have you walking out the door feeling so good.

Fashion Night Out Canada hits Calgary

A new show is in town to feed your hunger for fashion.

If you are like me and you just can't get enough of the runway and would love a  monthly feed. Well Fashion Night Out Canada has hit Calgary and is going to feed you every second Tuesday of every month! Always a new line up, always fresh Calgarian fashion talent, from the hosts to the designers to the stylists. It is all about showcasing what Calgary truly has to offer.

Brain child and mastermind behind creating this event, is Katie Karvellas, someone very familiar with knowing how to produce a great runway show and knows how to pick out talent. She has previously owned her own Canadian designer boutique, was on the original team of Alberta Fashion Week and currently is the founder and host of some of the most fashionable and favorable tween parties in Calgary through Runway Tween. This girl knows what she is doing.

So I suggest you purchase your tickets quickly before they are sold out for the opening night show April 10th. And be sure you are one of the first 60 to arrive to even get a seat. It's going to be one sought after night.

PARKSHOW 2012

I have posted about this event in the past and I am going to repeat myself again today because it really is an event you need to get your ticket too. It was a vintage inspired style show last season, now PARKSHOW is back for spring 2012 and I am excited to see what hits the stage this season. 

PARKSHOW 2012 is PARK's annual fundraising fashion show and art exhibition with all profits going towards hosting future events for the community!

They not only have the local models strutting the runway in local designer duds, but some incredibly talented artists decorating the walls. Arrive early to browse through the Art Exhibition at 7pm. Don't forget to support our local art community and purchase some art. What may only be a few hundred today could be an investment to what could be worth thousands soon enough. Calgary truly is oozing with talented artists.  What's in your art collection today? 

Now back to fashion, this year sounds so intriguing to hear that they have two start times listed for their fashion shows. At 9pm they have a "Contemporary + Fashion and Textile Design" Fashion show and at 10pm a "Women's Fall 2012 RTW" Fashion Show. 

I could list off all the 12 emerging designers and the 20 emerging artists today.. but I could also suggest you just get your tickets and see them in person yourself next week! When it comes to Fashion and Art it's always better in person!
